Developing a Household Garden Model in Ngoc Ha Ward (Ha Noi)
For ensuring food quality and safety and reducing organic waste, Action for the City cooperated with Ngoc Ha Women Union (Ngoc Ha Ward, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi) to implement a gardening program at household

In December 2015, Action for the City cooperated with Ngoc Ha Women Union (Ngoc Ha Ward, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi)  to implement a gardening program at household. This program is under the “Improving the environmental and health conditions in urban through community initiatives” project that funded by Bread for the World.

Through this model, participants will have chance to ensure food quality and safety, reduce organic waste (by making compost) as well as improve air quality. Beside, by establishing many Gardening groups in different neighbourhoods, this program will contribute to strengthen community cohesion in Ngoc Ha Ward.   By the end of January 2016, after a series of exchange visits in Hanoi, Da Nang and Hoi An, 6 pioneer households set up their household gardens with various materials (foam box, plastic tray, wooden box…). Especially, all participants practiced making compost at their household.
