30 pupils in grades 6, 7 and 8 of the secondary school C50 have participated in the program Green Living for Kids, operated from October 2009 to February 2010. This is a pilot program to teach children about sustainable development and climate change. The program was started by the two themes: Garbage and Health.

The pupils were very eager to join activities that their teachers and Action for the City staff guided basing on materials created by GAP (Global Action Plan), which had been applied at schools in Ukraine. They practice several practical actions at school and at home such as: classifying garbage, measuring the amount of garbage of their own houses, making organic compost, discussing nutrition, posturing and relaxing for better health....

After joining the club for four months, students were fully aware of harmful effects of waste to the environment; understood what ecological footprint is, and knew how to have better health.
